MANUEL-TURIZO
Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. He has made major global inroads into the Latin popular music scene. Una Lady Como Tu, his hit from 2016, received the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for Best Song. His debut album ADN was made available through La Industria Inc., a Medellin-based Sony distribution firm. It was atop the Top Latin Albums chart, it reached no. 8. In the following year, he was a part of Ozuna for their Top Five smash Vaina Loca. In 2020, he collaborated with Noriel on Mala Influencia and then released her debut album Dopamina that year. In 2021 he recorded a duet for TINI's hit song Maldita Foto. The singer appeared with him in 2023 for 2000, featuring the smash hit La Bachata. Turizo was raised in a music-oriented environment because both his mother and his older brother are musicians. In interviews he has described playing music as an obligation. As a child, he was taught to play the piano, guitar and the ukulele. Despite initially wanting to become a veterinarian, Julian convinced him that learning with a Cuban music teacher could change the direction of his profession.
